Glowing Heart follows where the Holy Spirit leads and from the very beginning it was so evident that we were to travel to Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee! The Holy Spirit did not even wait for us to start working in lives, preparing and guiding long before last Saturday. As soon as we stepped off the vans, we were so warmly accepted! The enthusiasm through the games was fantastic, but what was really amazing was the excitement the youth had for the evening service. Several times we were asked and sat down to talk about what the worship time would involve because they were already ready for prayer and change in their life. It was so encouraging, especially because we had such a short time there, to see that the preparation work was already done by the Lord and He had brought us to help lead the way that last little stretch. As we began singing that night, the youth and adults were more enthusiastic that we’ve ever seen as they began a march around the entire sanctuary singing “Trading My Sorrows”; what an appropriate song too, to represent what was happening in that place! While the worship continued, the room was filled with cries out to God. Without any prompting on our part, the alter was lined with those pouring out their hearts, comforting, and finding hope. The message planned for that evening wasn’t even necessary and in fact we had the best introduction to the "Everything" skit by one of their very own who chose to rededicate her life to Christ and be free from the bondage of depression, cutting, and attempts at suicide. Honestly, it blows my mind how little we had to initiate the whole weekend, how ready this group was to receive God’s saving grace and be transformed in Him. From such a God-honoring Saturday to the phenomenal host families to experiencing the unheard of Sun Drop drink, I cannot imagine being anywhere else that weekend and the drive was undoubtedly worth the trip! We love our Tennessee brothers and sisters and are praying for their continued steadfastness in the Lord and that the fire in their hearts will shine out and spread!
