Rylie First Baptist
by Jerri Catagnus

God showed up in many ways in Riley at the Sunday morning service. When Glowing Heart does Sunday morning services we do not get to bond with the congregation and youth quite in the same way. We only get a few minutes before service to interact and really get to know people. And in Riley, the church congregation was smaller than any other place we’ve been, but even though the seats weren’t completely full, the huge hearts of every single one of God’s children there were full of His great love. It was hard to connect with the people at first, but throughout worship and the message our director Henry gave, I believe God softened their hearts and was able to show them through us what true worship is like, instead of just experiencing “traditional” worship.

After the service, the church invited all of Glowing Heart to a luncheon. Besides the food being absolutely amazing, the conversation was even more satisfying. We really got to know the stories of the church members and how strong and determined they are in their walks with God. They encouraged us in what we are doing for God, which I know personally I really needed. Sometimes I have to admit that at Sunday morning services I do not expect God to work in the same ways He does at the D-Nows, but every single time He proves me wrong and I learn something new about His awesome power and absolute control. There are no barriers when it comes to the true, unfailing love of Christ, and that is a great thing I am blessed to see and experience almost every single weekend.
