December 2011 Inglewood Baptist Church
by Matt Meaux
Glowing Heart had the unique opportunity of performing at an event in the month of December, this past Friday night. We were invited to provide music at Inglewood Baptist's Journey through Bethlehem just down the road from us in Grand Prairie. For a few weeks prior to the event, Glowing Heart worked on a few Christmas songs to add to our repertoire. David Pooler worked up arrangements for The First Noel, What Child Is This, and Silent Night. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I look forward to the music of the Christmas season, and I was ecstatic that we would have a chance at performing these together, and these songs helped us add to the Christmas spirit at Inglewood. Throughout the night, visitors would join us in remembering the reason for the season, in song. About every 15 minutes, a new group of visitors would join us in the sanctuary while waiting for there turn to tour Bethlehem. Eventually, we had our own chance to tour Bethlehem. Led by our tour guide, Nathanael, we were able to view the work that Inglewood put into this ministry. After encountering various shop keepers, roman guards, and even tax collectors, our journey came to a conclusion at the manger where the message of Christ was shared. It was great experience, and I'm thankful that I had a chance to be a part of it.
