The Glowing Heart D-NOW that took place this past weekend changed the lives and touched the hearts of many youth that attended, along with my own. I had never previously worked at a D-NOW or attended one myself, and honestly did not think too highly of them. However, God opened up the opportunity for me to help the Glowing Heart Ministry and pushed me in that direction this past weekend. It transformed my view on many things.

I am a student at Dallas Baptist University and was only saved in October 2008. I had never witnessed another person being saved or the love that the Glowing Heart members showed the youth in Pottsboro until this D-NOW. When we first arrived I felt like the kids took the event as a typical everyday task and were not expecting much to happen. That started to change as we lead Bible studies focusing on spiritual warfare and the struggles these students face everyday in a world screaming at them to conform to some very ungodly ways. The breaking point for many and the time the biggest change occured was Saturday night after worship and the Lifehouse "Everything" skit. It hit home for alot of the middle school girls in my group and I know many of the other youth. I think that it showed them the true love God has for them and how He will take on their cares and worries. Because of this, many gave their lives and hearts to Christ! God worked through the leaders and certainly through me, since I had never ministered to anyone before this weekend, to help these new believers. This taught me how to put ALL of my trust in the Lord and depend on Him to give me the correct words to help the kids and just love on them.

After that night I believe that the students really began to understand the power of prayer and how God has given them the ability, strength, and weapons to fight Satan everyday in this invisible war. They were all on fire and had the detemination to keep up what they had learned, even after they go back to the "real world" and school.

Overall it was a very inspiring weekend. It showed how much God really does cherish each of His children and how intricate and wonderful His planning and timing is, being that He brought the special group together this weekend that He did. Thank you Glowing Heart for allowing me to be apart of this amazing experience!
