I have been to many different churches. Some were small, and others were large. Some have met in schools, others in houses. Some have been young, some old. However, out of them all, very few have excited me the way Cornerstone did. Worshiping there was one of those times in my life where I was floored by how God works extraordinarily on just a simple Sunday morning. The genuine love that I felt as I was greeted by members of the church was so enveloping that I actually was not surprised when I discovered that the normal greeting there was a hug instead of the firm Baptist handshake I have become accustomed to. As we went into worship I was once again astonished by the joy that radiated from the congregation. They were so overflowing with the joy of the Lord it was hard to imagine how anyone could not be moved by the loving members of the church. As if all of this wasn't enough, God continued to flow through the place as the pastor began to preach. He didn't merely talk at us, like so many do these days. He engaged the entire congregation throughout the sermon, letting the Spirit lead him to whom he needed to talk to specifically, and even calling upon members of the church to stand up and give testimony to God's grace and love. The whole time I was there I couldn't help but think "Wow, this is how it's supposed to be EVERY Sunday, EVERYWHERE." Leaving that day was hard for me. That kind of experience is addicting. The whole time we were breaking down, I was assailed with inspiration as I continually recapped the morning in my mind. The love that I found being lived there was such that I wonder how I can live so that I may portray God's love with the same fervor as that congregation.
